We are Smart, We are Strong, We are Determined, We are Leaders, WE are Morgantown Elementary!

At Morgantown Elementary, we believe in the power of every child to succeed and grow. Our school community is built on the values of strength, determination, leadership, and intelligence, and we are committed to creating an environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our students are encouraged to be curious, work hard, and approach every challenge with a positive attitude. We focus on fostering a love for learning, while building confidence and resilience that will last a lifetime. With the support of our dedicated teachers and staff, students at Morgantown are inspired to reach their full potential and take pride in their achievements.

At Morgantown, we empower our students to be leaders — not just in the classroom, but also in the community. We celebrate every step of their growth and are proud to see them grow smarter, stronger, and more determined every day.

As part of our commitment to excellence, Morgantown Elementary is also closely monitoring our performance through the state’s scorecard, which tracks our students’ progress in key areas like reading and math. State law requires us to meet specific benchmarks on state assessments, and we’re dedicated to ensuring our students succeed. We're focused on continuous improvement and providing the support necessary to help every student reach their full potential.

What Makes Us Great

Morgantown Elementary School is making learning exciting and engaging for all students! Our goal is to transition learning from repeating knowledge to fostering curiosity. We have spent years designing engaging and powerful tasks that generate excitement from students and push them to engage at high cognitive demands! At the same time, our school has a tremendous culture where our students exhibit high moral character traits, and our staff creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Message from the Principal

My name is Hunter Gary, and the 2025-2026 School year will be my 6th year as Principal at Morgantown Elementary School. It’s truly an honor to serve this school and the Butler County community. Our goal every year is to be a high-performing school that our community is proud of. Morgantown Elementary School has shown a lot of growth in student achievement and our students have performed very well over the last few years. We will continue that growth this year as we continue to transition learning from repeating knowledge to fostering curiosity and creating tasks that provoke cognitive engagement. We are also committed to preparing our students to be successful as they transition to middle and high school, and later on into the workforce through our Portrait of a Learner work. We also love working with our families and community partners to make our students' educational experiences as meaningful as possible, so we will continue to count on parent, family, and community engagement to help make this happen. Last, our ultimate goal is to create lifelong learners by developing a love for learning so that our students can be successful whether they pursue careers in engineering, healthcare, agriculture, industry, business, or anything else!

If you wish to contact me, please call the school at (270)526-3361 or email hunter.gary@butler.kyschools.us.
