Native American Ceremony Lesson

Posted Date: 9/12/25 (1:42 PM)

For the last few weeks in Social Studies we have been learning about Native American Culture! This week we hit Native American Roles, Religion, and Ceremonies. Today our students worked together in groups to create symbols and a small ceremony (a chant and a dance) to honor or celebrate a part of nature like a Native American.

This activity was a lot of fun and took a lot of collaboration amongst the students as they had to use teamwork to create a dance everyone could do. This of course a key component of the portrait of a learner! They all used communication which is another component of the portrait of a learner!

Please enjoy these pictures and videos from today! The kids worked hard and played hard today!
